Speaker’s Reunion Day
at the Texas Capitol
Who: Former Members and Speakers of the Texas House of Representatives
When: Friday, April 15, 2011
Why: A day for former members of the Texas House of Representatives to gather and be honored for their service to the State of Texas
- Agenda:
- 8:00-10:00 a.m. – Registration and Breakfast Reception (southwest Capitol Grounds)
- 10:00-11:00 a.m. – Staging of Former Members for House Floor Introduction (Agricultural Museum, 1W.14)
- 11:00-12:00 p.m. – Introduction of Former Members and photos (House Chamber)
- 12:15 p.m. (or upon adjournment) – Barbecue Lunch (southwest Capitol Grounds)
Barbecue Tickets: Nametags provided at registration will serve as tickets to the Barbecue for former members and their guests. Current members will receive a complimentary ticket delivered to their Capitol offices. All others may inquire about tickets to Kari Torres at (512) 463-1000.
Parking: Parking is available in the Capitol Visitors Center Garage located at 1201 San Jacinto, between Trinity and San Jacinto at 12th and 13th streets. There is no charge for parking for the first two hours and $.75 for each half hour thereafter, with a maximum daily charge of $6.00. Please let us know if you will need handicapped parking assistance.
