REPRESENTATIVE STUCKY NAMED MOST OUTSTANDING FRESHMAN BY CAPITOL INSIDE
AUSTIN, TX-The day after the 85th Texas Legislature adjourned, Capitol Inside, an award-winning online news source about Texas politics, awarded Representative Lynn Stucky with "the most outstanding performance by a freshman." He is joined by Senator Dawn Buckingham (Lakeway) in earning this session's award for best freshman.
Representative Stucky's mindset heading into his first session was to take care of his district and learn the legislative process. He filed 8 bills, joint authored 11, and co-authored 64 pieces of conservative legislation. Of his 8 stand-alone bills, 5 are on Governor Abbott's desk awaiting his signature.
"I am very thankful for being honored as an outstanding freshman alongside Senator Buckingham. I came to Austin to represent the great people of HD 64, and that is what we did. I want to thank my staff and the other members who made my first session a successful one," Stucky said.
A native of rural Kansas, Dr. Lynn Stucky was raised on a farm with his five siblings. He is a graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979, followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. Since then, he has practiced veterinary medicine for over 34 years in Denton County. He served for 15 years on the Sanger ISD Board of Trustees, including 4 years as president.
