Representatives Arévalo, Herrero & Gervin-Hawkins Honor Isabel Marie Sánchez for her Contributions to the Arts and the Community
Austin, Texas - On, May 23, 2017, Representatives Arévalo, Herrero, and Gervin-Hawkins will have the pleasure of honoring Isabel Marie Sánchez on floor of the Texas House of Representatives for her contribution to the arts and the community.
Isabel Marie Sánchez is one of the top emerging artists of the Tejano music scene today. At such a young age, Isabel has taken the Lone Star State by storm! She began establishing an international fan base by competing on a variety of television shows including, "Sábado Gigante" and "La Voz Kids." She has also gained notoriety by performing the national anthem for a number of dignitaries, the LULAC National Convention, and the San Antonio Spurs. After signing with Q-Zone Records, Isabel went into the studio to record her debut album, New Girl in Town. In 2016, shortly after her 13th birthday, Isabel's album was released to rave reviews from critics and produced three hit singles. Isabel Marie Sánchez made history by becoming the first artist to have three songs on the Tejano Gold Countdown Top 20 at the same time.
"This is an important moment to honor a former student from the Young Women's Leadership Academy who is following her dreams and accomplishing so much at a young age," stated Representative Arévalo.
