State Representative Jim Murphy Receives A+ Rating from Americans for Prosperity-Texas for 84th Session

State Representative Jim Murphy received a perfect score of A+ on his report card from Americans for Prosperity-Texas, indicating a strong effort to promote economic and individual liberties in the 84th legislative session.

"I am honored to be recognized by Americans for Prosperity-Texas for my service to Texas. As legislators, it is our duty to promote job growth and individual freedoms in a business-friendly environment," said Rep. Murphy.

The AFP-Texas Report Card is designed to provide Texans with a way to evaluate their legislators' voting records. The Report Card is scored based on 13 house votes surrounding issues of economic importance, including school choice, a state spending limit, transparency issues, and efforts to reduce and end the state franchise tax.

“AFP-Texas advocates for free markets and individual liberties, and we appreciate the legislators who helped advocate for those policies and legislation, as well as those who fought to keep bad policies from being enacted," says AFP-Texas State Director Jerome Greener. "In addition, we specifically thank Chairman Murphy for his leadership on HB 32. This tax relief will help all Texans. We look forward to continue to working with him in the upcoming legislative session to preserve our free market economy and hold government accountable. "
