Rep. Rinaldi Mourns Fallen Dallas Police Officers, Condemns Divisive Rhetoric
AUSTIN, TEXAS –Rep. Matt Rinaldi joins Texans in mourning the death of five Dallas Police Officers, murdered on Thursday night while protecting a downtown protest march. According to Dallas Police Chief David Brown, the suspected shooter told authorities he was "upset about Black Lives Matter" and "wanted to kill white people, especially white officers."
"My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these brave officers. This horrific attack was motivated by racial animosity, stirred by an ongoing barrage of hateful rhetoric directed at law enforcement," said Rep. Rinaldi. "The simple truth is that all lives matter. We remain One Nation, Under God. Americans of every ethnic background must unify and demand an end to the rhetoric of racial division and separation. Today and every day, we stand together to Back the Blue."
Representative Matt Rinaldi is from Irving and represents northwest Dallas County.
