2016 THC Historical Marker Webinars
(Austin, TX) - The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is hosting free webinars that provide an overview of important historical research fundamentals. State Representative James White highly encourages county historical commissions and other interested stakeholders to participate in the online webinars.
During the presentation, participants will walk through a sample historical marker application and sample narrative. The process will aid in helping to comprise successful marker applications. Other topics participants will benefit from are historical significance and integrity, conducting research, primary vs. secondary sources, research tools, writing the narrative, and the roles of the THC and county historical commissions (CHC's) in the application process.
