TEXAS REPRESENTATIVE TONI ROSE APPOINTED TO THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON AGING
Rose continues course as a leading voice on issues affecting the quality of life for all Texans
AUSTIN, TX - State Representative Toni Rose (district 110) has been appointed as one of two House Members to serve on the Texas Legislative Committee on Aging. The committee is charged with studying issues related to the health care, income, transportation, housing, education and employment needs of Texas seniors.
The Legislative Committee on Aging is comprised of two members of the Texas Senate, two members of the Texas House of Representatives and two public members appointed by the Governor. The committee will meet and make recommendations to the Texas Legislature to strengthen existing protections for seniors and examine issues linked to the demographic and geographic diversity of the state's aging population.
The House Committee on Human Services, on which Representative Rose serves as Vice Chair, recently heard testimony on the ten year anticipated population growth of seniors and their projected impact on the state's economy and budget. Representative Rose fully expects to explore these issues in greater depth as a member of the Legislative Committee on Aging.
“Texas seniors deserve our greatest respect and diligence as it relates to their medical needs, financial needs and quality of life" said Representative Toni Rose. “I recognize that throughout the process of reorganizing the Health and Human Services Commission, we must be unwavering in our commitment to our aging Texans. We need to ensure that they are well protected in every way.”
