State Rep. White Encourages Southeast Texans to Visit MentalHealthTX.org
(Austin, TX) - As a member of the Select Committee on Mental Health, State Representative James White has taken a proactive stance in providing Texas citizens resources to meet mental health needs. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Office of Mental Health Coordination has developed www.mentalhealthtx.org, a website whose goal is to provide information, resources, and direction to Texas residents who may have mental health related needs or who want to support someone who does.
This website provides valuable assistance and a wide array of resources ranging from resources for children, families, and veterans. In addition, citizens can dial 211 to be connected to mental health and substance abuse services in the area.
"It is vital that we provide programs to help those in need. Mental illness affects us all, and I would like the citizens of Southeast Texas to know that there are resources available to them in their communities," said Rep. White.
If you have any questions, please contact State Representative James White's office at (512) 463-0490 or (409) 283-3700.
