The Rose Mobile Mammography Van Heads to Jasper with Help of CPRIT Funds
Austin, TX - State Representative James White commends The Rose and CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital for bringing the mobile mammography van to Jasper. The Rose, the leading breast healthcare organization in Texas, is partnering with CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital to offer onsite mammograms at various locations throughout Jasper, Newton, Tyler, and Sabine counties. The services will be made available through the use of The Mobile Mammography Van and funded through a grant from the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to help uninsured, low-income women get their annual mammogram. The program allows The Rose to bring screening services to various corporate offices, clinics, doctor's facilities, churches or a place of employment.
The Rose's first Mobile Mammography event will be December, 19th 2015 at the Nehemiah Family Life Center at Faith Temple Church (650 Pollard St.).
Women may be eligible for a sponsored mammogram if they are age 40 or older, live in Southeast Texas, are currently uninsured, and have never had a mammogram or have not had a mammogram in 2 years.
"I am glad that The Rose and CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital have partnered to provide access to the citizens of Southeast Texas. Their commitment to improving and providing access to women's health benefits is truly outstanding," said Rep. White.
