Representative Mary E. González Hosts Inaugural Meeting for the Stormwater Control and Recapture Planning Authority
Austin, TX - Representative Mary E. González will host the inaugural meeting of the Stormwater Control and Recapture Authority this week, created by House Bill 995 in the 84th Regular Legislative Session. The SCRPA seeks to address the devastation resulting from storms in the Lower Valley and throughout El Paso County. The SCRPA will bring leaders across the county together to collaborate on a proactive plan for addressing stormwater flooding in the future.

"This meeting is the first step towards addressing an issue that impacts families and homeowners not only in the Lower Valley, but throughout El Paso County," stated Representative González. "Developing a master plan will allow us to take a proactive stance on flooding in our county, instead of reacting to one crisis after another every time it floods."
Stormwater flooding has caused over $4 million in damages across the county since 2013.
