Texas Monthly: Rep. Cesar J. Blanco Among Ten Best Legislators
Austin, TX: State Representative César J. Blanco (HD-76) today was named to Texas Monthly's prestigious "Ten Best" legislators list for his work during the 84th legislative session. Rep. Blanco was selected out of 181 lawmakers that serve in the House and Senate.
"I am extremely humbled by this recognition," said Rep. Blanco. "It's an honor to be on the same list as some of the legislators I most admire. Thank you to the constituents for giving me the privilege to represent them in the Texas House and to Texas Monthly for the acknowledgement. I will continue to work to support our Veterans, ensure accountability with our tax-dollars, and to help usher El Paso into and unprecedented era of growth and opportunity."
Rep. Blanco played a crucial role in protecting the Hazlewood program to preserve the promise made to Veterans and their families. He also led the efforts to push for greater accountability and transparency with the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars being billed to Texans as border security dollars.
With close collaboration with Senator Rodriguez, Rep. Blanco passed eight pieces of legislation to help Veterans and their families, support El Paso's local economy, protect victims of family violence, and increase information for voters.
Blanco was also selected as the "freshman of the year" for the Mexican American Legislative Caucus.
