Representative Mark J. Keough Named Chairman of Foster Care Sub-committee
Austin TX, — Representative Richard Peña Raymond, Chairman of the Human Services Committee, has appointed Representative Mark J. Keough as Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Foster Care. The sub-committee, which was created during the 84th legislative session, will consider legislation addressing the foster care system. The sub-committee is made up of three members: Representatives Mark Keough, Toni Rose, Vice-Chair Human Services, and Dr. Stuart Spitzer.
" I am honored to serve as the Chairman of such an important committee, which is devoted to ensuring our most vulnerable children have the best representation when policy decisions are made. My background as a pastor will prove useful to the sub-committee, and I am eager to work with my colleagues to facilitate thoughtful discussion and work towards addressing the needs of the Texas foster care system."
Regarding Representative Keough's appointment, Chairman Raymond said, "There is no doubt in my mind that Representative Keough is the right man for this very critical job. Keough will bring a fresh and thoughtful prespective to this issue, and I look forward to working with him as the Texas House works to improve the foster care system."
Representative Mark J. Keough represents District 15, which encompasses the southern portion of Montgomery County including the cities of Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, The Woodlands Township, and Rayford Road Communities.
