State Representative Justin Rodriguez’s House Bill 3230 Passes the House Unanimously
AUSTIN—State Representative Justin Rodriguez (San Antonio) is pleased to announce the final passage of House Bill 3230, a piece of legislation that helps non-profit organizations take advantage of existing tax benefits for rehabilitating historical structures. Last session, lawmakers passed a bill allowing certain organizations to be eligible for a franchise tax exemption for restoring historical buildings — Rep. Rodriguez’s bill extends those benefits to non-profits.
Rep. Rodriguez had the following to say after the final passage of his bill: “I’m pleased that, in a bipartisan effort, we were able to pass this bill overwhelmingly today in the House. As the bill moves to the Senate, we will continue to stress the importance of affording non-profit organizations the same economic opportunity as the private sector in the restoration of historic structures.”
