Rep. White Pledges to #GoBlue for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Austin, TX - In an effort to get the conversation started about child abuse, Child Protective Services (CPS) thought of a way that a child would show their support for child abuse prevention. This thought led to the "Stick Your Tongue Out To Child Abuse" campaign in which CPS asks people to eat something edible that turns their tongues blue, stick their tongues out to child abuse, and post a picture today with the hashtag #GoBlue. Among the candies used to achieve a blue tongue are blue blow poops, blue snow cones, and blue Pop Rocks.

"This month, my staff and I have been working to bring awareness to child abuse prevention and early intervention. Today, I urge not only Southeast Texans, but all Texans, to stick out their tongues to child abuse and take to social media to promote awareness using the hashtag #GoBlue," said State Representative James White.
