Texas Historical Commission Releases New Texas Time Travel Tours App
Austin, TX - The Texas Historical Commission (THC) released their new Texas Time Travel Tours App which is available for free download from Google Play and Apple's App Store. This informative app targets history lovers seeking Texas history and heritage adventures that evoke the Lone Star State's diverse cultures.
The app's themes include key timeframes, cultures, and personalities from the history of Texas. It also launches with the African Americans in Texas tour, the first in the series of mobile tours produced by the THC. The African Americans tour offers video and audio highlighting stories about black history from across the state. The stories bring history to life and guide users to historic sites that reveal the roles of African American Texans in the civil rights movement, culture, and everyday life.
State Representative James White encourages Texans of all ages to download this informative app and learn more about what makes our state great. "African American history in the State of Texas is one that is vital to understanding our past and the shaping of our the future. I commend the Texas Historical Commission for recognizing its importance to the state and choosing to highlight it as its first time travel tour," said Rep. White.
New tours will be released periodically, and all the resources available through the app are also included online. For more information, visit www.texastimetravel.com or search for Texas Time Travel Tours in the Google or Apple app stores.
