Representative Keough Receives Committee Assignments for the 84th Legislative Session
Austin TX, — Today, House Speaker Joe Straus announced his list of House Committee appointments for the 84th Legislative Session, naming Representative Mark Keough (The Woodlands) to the following committes:
• House Committee on Corrections
• House Committee on Human Services
"Now that committee assignments are in hand, I am looking forward to getting started. Each of these committes will consider proposed legislation that will address the needs of our state and its citizens." Said Representative Keough.
"The Human Services Committee serves a vital role in our state, overseeing welfare and rehabilitation programs, oversight of the Health and Human Services Commision, Department of Aging and Disability Services, and the Department of Family and Protective Services. I look forward to serving with Chariman Raymond and the other Representatives ensuring Texas has great quality Health Care."
"The Corrections Committee also serves an important role in the House. This committee oversees the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Special Prosecution Unit, the Board of Pardons and Paroles, the Texas Juvenile Justice Board, the Texas Junvenile Justice Department, and Advisory Council on Juvenile Services. I am also looking forward to serving with Chairman Murphy and my fellow Representatives."
Representaitve Mark Keough represents District 15, which encompases the southern portion of Montgomery County including the cities of Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, and The Woodlands Township.
