Texas Women's Health Program
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission offers a large amount of services through the Texas Women's Health Program. Currently, there are about 117,000 women between the ages of 18-44 enrolled in the programs. The programs cover services such as pelvic examinations, STD screenings and treatment, HIV screening, diabetes screening, high blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings, breast & cervical cancer screenings, clinical breast exams, an initial pap test, and contraceptives.
State Representative James White encourages women who qualify for these programs to take advantage of the resources available to them. The program is currently available to US Citizens and qualifying immigrants who are between the ages of 18-44.
