STATE REP. J.M. LOZANO TO CHAIR HOUSE REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE
Also Named Co-Chair of International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs
Austin, Texas – State Rep. J.M. Lozano has been named as the chairman for the House Redistricting Committee, a first for the lawmaker who is beginning his third session in the Texas House of Representatives.
The announcement came on Wednesday as Texas House Speaker Joe Straus announced membership of House committees for the 84th Legislature. In addition to being named to chair the House Committee on Redistricting, Lozano was named to repeat his second term as the Co-Chair on International Trade and Intergovernmental Affairs. He will also serve on the Environmental Regulation Committee.
“I am honored and humbled for my committee assignments,” said J.M. Lozano. “With these assignments, I believe I can make an impact on issues that directly relate to our economy and our future. I am grateful and thankful for the Speaker for working to make Texas a greater state.”
Committees will begin meeting next week.
Representative J.M. Lozano represents House District 43, which include Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg and San Patricio counties.
