House Bill 646 Filed
Outlawing Sales of E-Cigarettes to Minors
I am excited to announce the filing of House Bill 646 regarding the sales of e-cigarettes and vapor products to children under the age of 18. Allowing minors to engage in the consumption of these products can be a direct gateway to the use of cigarettes and other harmful habits. It is unfortunate that businesses are allowed to manufacture and market dangerous goods that are clearly designed to appeal to children — such as bubble gum flavored vapors — and especially that they are allowed to do so in such close proximity to schools. I hope that this legislation will be a step towards disallowing businesses to lure children into habitual use of products that can be harmful to their health, and I look forward to continuing the fight against these practices in the future.
