Rep. Price Statement regarding Sunset Staff Reports to the Sunset Advisory Commission
Austin – Texas State Representative Four Price, who serves as Vice Chair of the Sunset Advisory Commission, issued the following statement regarding the five Sunset Staff Reports recently released and published on the Commission’s website, www.sunset.texas.gov/.
“I commend the staff of the Sunset Advisory Commission for their professional work which is reflected in their recommendation reports pertaining to the University Interscholastic League, the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the Department of State Health Services, the Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Department of Aging and Disability Services. The Sunset staff has been very diligent in their extensive review and evaluation of each these entities. The Sunset staff’s reports, which contain statutory and management recommendations, provide the Commission with salient springboards for sound policy discussions during the Commission’s June 24th and June 25th hearings for each of the aforementioned entities.
I concur with Commission Chair Jane Nelson that ‘these recommendations will be carefully considered, and the public will have ample opportunity to weigh in on these ideas in the weeks ahead.’ In that regard, I thank the numerous constituents and stakeholders who have spoken with my staff and me on policy issues pertaining to these entities. I encourage all Texans who have an interest in these matters to continue to contact my office.”
