McAllen, TX – State Representative R.D. "Bobby" Guerra, area chambers of commerce, and other regional leaders, will host Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) officials for an informative discussion with the public on Tuesday, October 15, 10:00 a.m. at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. It will be an open dialogue concerning Proposition 6 and the critical water issues currently facing Texas. A Q&A session and media availability will follow.

The panel will feature TWDB Chairman Carlos Rubinstein, former RGV Watermaster, and Jon Schnautz, Deputy General Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor on water issues to the Speaker of the House Joe Straus. Texas Legislators and TWDB continue to receive questions from the public regarding Proposition 6 which creates the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas and taps into the Rainy Day Fund for a one-time investment. It is one of the nine constitutional amendment propositions on the November 5th ballot. In an effort to be proactive and responsive to these inquiries, Representative Guerra has reached out to the area county, city and other public officials to coordinate this meaningful discussion. Members of the Rio Grande Valley legislative delegation will also be present to assist our residents in addressing these serious water issues.

"The TWDB panel will serve to be a great opportunity for the public to hear from us, and make an informative and educated decision when it comes to voting in November. This critical constitutional amendment will have a profound effect on the long-term water supply for Texans and our families," stated Representative Guerra.

The panel will be held at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance in conference rooms two and three, at 118 Paseo Del Prado, Edinburg, Texas 78539.
