State Rep. Four Price Named Texas Oil and Natural Gas “2013 Texas Legislative Champion”
Amarillo, TX --- Eight Texas oil and gas groups, working together on the Statewide Joint Association Education Initiative, presented State Representative Four Price today with the “2013 Texas Legislative Champion” award for his efforts to keep the oil and natural gas industry strong in Texas. The presentation was part of the Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association (PPROA) 84th Annual Convention.
“The oil and gas industry is a driving economic force in our state, contributing immensely to the productivity and prosperity we appreciate in Texas,” Price said “I thank the organizations involved in the Statewide Joint Association Education Initiative for helping to ensure the long-term growth and vitality of our state through investments in oil and gas. It is an honor to receive the ‘2013 Texas Legislative Champion’ award and be recognized by such an important sector of our Texas economy.”
“The Texas oil and natural gas community proudly recognizes Representative Price as a long-time advocate for economic opportunity, lower taxes, and common sense, pro-business policies that spur job growth in the Panhandle and across Texas," said Wayne Hughes, President of PPROA.
The surge in oil and natural gas production happening across Texas is made possible because of advances in technology that allow operators to tap oil and natural gas reserves that were once considered unreachable. In 2012 alone, oil and gas companies contributed over $12 billion in taxes and royalties into state and local treasuries.
“The state and its citizens owe Representative Four Price our appreciation for recognizing what helps keeps Texas strong: the robust energy sector that fuels the Texas economy,” said Luke Legate, spokesman for the Statewide Joint Association Education Initiative.
To educate the public about the oil and natural gas industry, Legate travels the state on behalf participants in the Joint Association Education initiative, including the Texas Oil & Gas Association, the Texas Pipeline Association, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, the Foundation for Energy Education, Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners, the Texas Royalty Council, the Permian Basin Petroleum Association, and the Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association.
