FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 09/11/2013
Rep. Four Price Commemorates Patriot Day
In commemoration of Patriot Day 2013, and in a tribute to those who perished in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, Representative Four Price passed House Resolution 426 during the 2013 Texas Legislative Session. In his recognition of the anniversary of this solemn occasion, Price issued the following statement:
"On September 11, 2001, America was changed forever when terrorists attacked our nation and took the lives of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. More than a decade later, the memory of this tragedy remains fresh in our hearts and minds. As we reflect on the aftermath of September 11, and think of friends, family, first responders and all the precious lives that were lost on that fateful day, let us bow our heads and pray for peace for our nation.
We have seen the United States of America endure and preserve. We are a nation of strength and will, of liberty and justice, of the free and the brave. The American spirit shone brightly on the morning of September 11, 2001, when faced with the unthinkable, we stood firmly united in our compassion and prayer. On Patriot Day, let us remember that our country is great because of our spirit and resilience.
I call upon all Texans to display the flag of the United States at half-staff on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and to salute the men and women who serve today to protect our country against evil. We will never forget."
