REPRESENTATIVE ERIC JOHNSON CHOSEN TO HEAD MAJOR POLICY COMMITTEE OF NATIONAL BLACK CAUCUS OF STATE LEGISLATORS
Austin, TX - Representative Eric Johnson (Dallas) has been appointed to head a major policy committee of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. Representative Johnson will chair the Business, Financial Services, and Insurance Committee of the nonpartisan national organization.
“I am honored that NBCSL President Joe Armstrong has given me the opportunity to serve in this new role,” said Representative Johnson. “The American dream is still out of reach for too many Americans—particularly those of us in the African American community—and I look forward to working with the committee to focus on expanding opportunities and eliminating obstacles to full participation in our economy.”
The NBCSL is the nation’s largest membership association of black state legislators and includes over 600 members from across the country. Providing a voice for under-represented and impoverished communities, NBCSL unites black legislators from across the country and presents their issues on a national scale.
Eric Johnson represents District 100, which includes parts of Dallas and Mesquite, in the Texas House of Representatives.
