State Representative Four Price Wraps Up a Successful Regular Legislative Session
Austin, TX --- The Texas Legislature adjourned its 2013 regular session on Monday, a session that saw many triumphs for Texas’ future.
Over the course of the 140-day session, State Representative Four Price authored and sponsored 35 bills, and joint and coauthored an additional 51 bills. Many of these bills have been signed or await Governor Perry’s signature. As a member of the Sunset Advisory Commission, Price was also responsible for carrying and passing six Sunset bills related to the continuation and efficient operation of several state agencies. “I am very proud of the progress we made over the course of this legislative session,” Price said. “We significantly moved the needle in a positive direction for Texans in areas of water planning and conservation, education, healthcare and economic development. It’s been an honor to work alongside my colleagues to pass legislation that is good for the prosperity of our state and the well-being of Texas families.”
Price serves as a member on the House Appropriations Committee, which drafted the state’s $197 billion budget as well as legislation to provide a mechanism for financing water infrastructure. Price also serves on the House Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee and the House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations.
Governor Rick Perry on Monday called a special session to begin on Tuesday, May 28.
