REP. MATT KRAUSE ANNOUNCES PASSAGE OF S.B. 260 HONORING OUR MILITARY FAMILIES
Austin, TX - Today, Rep. Matt Krause is pleased to announce the passage of S.B. 260 out of the Texas House of Representatives. S.B. 260 will allow the children of military service members five days of excused absence from school to spend with their parents when their parents are being deployed or returning from deployment abroad.
"I am extremely honored to have joint-authored this bill with Rep. Jonathan Stickland," said Rep. Matt Krause. "I believe that the family is the cornerstone of our society and wanted to ensure that members of our military are able to spend necessary quality time with their children before and after an overseas deployment."
Rep. Jonathan Stickland (H.E.B.) was the primary House author of S.B. 260. Reps. Kenneth Sheets (Dallas), Matt Krause (Fort Worth), and Joe Pickett (El Paso) were joint House authors.
"S.B. 260 had broad bipartisan support in both chambers of the state legislature," continued Rep. Krause. "This was an issue we could easily come together on and create smart public policy that benefits Texas families who are making the ultimate sacrifice for our liberties."
