Rep. Donna Howard Celebrates the House Passage of HB 772
AUSTIN - Following today's vote by the Texas House on House Bill 772, Representative Donna Howard released the following statement:
"This afternoon on the House floor, I was grateful for the strong support in the passage of House Bill 772, which will modernize the Texas immunization registry, ImmTrac.
The bill will cut the red tape for parents, individuals, and providers, while also instituting comprehensive privacy measures related to our protected health records.
It will allow providers to streamline their services, better assess the patient's immunization history, determine any missed shots and get patients back on their shot schedule, serve as a valuable resource in the wake of natural disasters and infectious disease outbreaks, and avoid the needless pain and increased costs of duplicative immunizations.
House Bill 772 will better ensure that we are providing the Right Vaccine, at the Right Time, to the Right Person. I look forward to tomorrow's third reading, and then swiftly moving this important legislation through the Senate and onto the Governor's desk."
