State Representative James White Announces Support of Barbara Cargill
Nominated for Chair of the State Board of Education
AUSTIN, TEXAS-- State Representative James White is announcing his support for the nomination of Barbara Cargill as Chair of the State Board of Education(SBOE). Cargill is an accomplished public school science teacher with a history of putting children first, not only as a mother, but also as an educator and an elected official of the SBOE.
Her knowledge and promotion of math, science, and engineering ensure strong standards and a continued focus on preparing future generations for a 21st Century economy. "In a time when many Texans are concerned about economic competitiveness, both globally and nationally, Cargill's educational direction is crucial to preparing students to enter a high-tech, global economy," said Representative White.
Cargill's commonsense approach has attained great success at the ballot box, as well. In a significantly re-drawn district she won her Primary with 54% of the vote and her November election with 72% of the vote.
"Barbara Cargill is a proven educator and public servant that has earned our confidence," stated Representative White.
Representative White is the Member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 19, composed of Polk, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, and Hardin counties.
