Representative Craig Goldman Receives Committee Assignments
AUSTIN - State Representative Craig Goldman (Fort Worth) was appointed by the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Joe Straus, to serve on the Land and Resource Management as well as the Special Purpose Districts committees.
"I want to thank Speaker Straus for appointing me to these important committees. The constituents of House District 97 will have a strong voice in dealing with pivotal issues, such as property rights, emergency services and public safety," Goldman said.
As a member of the House Committee on Land and Resource Management, Representative Goldman looks forward to tackling issues, such as eminent domain and land use, as well as working with Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and the General Land Office. This committee also has jurisdiction over the School Land Board, which generates $14.2 billion towards public education. He looks forward to helping find solutions for education funding, one of the state's most pressing issues.
Representative Goldman is honored to serve on the newly created House Committee on Special Purpose Districts. This committee represents the most fundamental responsibilities of government. The committee will create and work with special purpose districts, which ensure clean water and provide for public health and safety.
"These appointments give me the opportunity to serve on committees that embody the very principles of limited government," Goldman said.
