State Rep. Dwayne Bohac Receives Key Committee Assignments
Will serve as Vice-Chairman of Business and Industry and on the powerful Ways & Means and Local & Consent Calendars Committees
AUSTIN, TX -- State Representative Dwayne Bohac (Spring Branch) has been assigned to serve on three key committees during the 83rd Legislative Session. He will serve as Vice-Chair of Business and Industry and on the powerful Ways & Means and Local & Consent Calendars Committees.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on three committees that are of great importance to my district and our state," said Rep. Bohac. "I appreciate the vote of confidence from the Speaker and my colleagues and will continue to work hard and deliver results for my local community and our state."
Rep. Bohac will serve as Vice Chair of the Business & Industry Committee. This will be the fifth time he has served on the committee. The Business & Industry Committee has jurisdiction over matters pertaining to industry and manufacturing, industrial safety and safe working conditions, the regulation of business transactions and transactions involving property interests, homeowners' associations and the oversight and regulation of the construction industry.
For the fourth time, Rep. Bohac will be a member of the Local & Consent Calendars Committee. This influential committee is responsible placing bills and resolutions that are deemed local in nature or uncontested on the appropriate calendar to be voted on by the body.
Rep. Bohac will once again serve on the powerful Ways & Means Committee. The Ways & Means Committee has jurisdiction over all bills and resolutions proposing to raise state revenue, proposing to levy state taxes or other fees, proposing to permit a local government to raise revenue and all bills and resolutions relating to the appraisal of property for taxation.
"Throughout my career, I have vigorously fought to institute appraisal cap reform for Texas homeowners and tax relief for our citizens and businesses," Bohac said. "Serving on the Ways & Means Committee gives me a seat at the table to continue that fight to ensure Texas stays on the path to prosperity."
On November 6, 2012, Representative Dwayne Bohac was re-elected to represent House District 138. He is a lifelong district resident.
