FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 01/10/2013
REP. RICK MILLER SWORN INTO OFFICE
(Austin) – State Representative Rick Miller was sworn in for his first term on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 as the Texas House of Representatives began its 83rd Legislative Session. “It was such an honor to be sworn in as State Representative for District 26” stated Rep. Miller. “The honor was made even greater by having my family and supporters present with me on the floor and gallery.” Representative Miller along with the other 149 State Representatives of Texas will be in session for 140 days and will consider a wide variety of topics.
“Over the next five months I expect to participate in discussions concerning public education and health care, as well as transportation and our state’s water shortage. The population of the great state of Texas has increased by 6 million people over the last ten years. This rapid growth requires emphasis to be placed on adequately funding for this expansion. That means that we need to look forward and build the infrastructure for the future ” Miller said.
Miller looks forward to working with the other members of the State Legislature. “I plan on working together with all members of this body as our work and mission transcends party politics. Most importantly, every day that I walk on the floor, I will think about the people that I represent, all of them."
