REP. WORKMAN JOINS HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT DRUNK DRIVING
Campaign encourages Texans to designate a Person Appointed to Stay Sober
AUSTIN – State Representative Paul Workman is pleased to join the Texas Hospitality Association (THA) and the Texas Department of Transportation to promote a holiday campaign aimed at preventing drunk driving. The P.A.S.S. (Person Appointed to Stay Sober) campaign encourages Texans to arrange for a sober ride home and for sober drivers to enjoy the holiday season without drinking alcohol.
The THA is distributing customizable sober driver "gift certificates" and other materials in stores where alchol is sold. Texans can visit the THA website at www.TexasHospitalityAssociation.com to print their own Holiday P.A.S.S. bottle hangers to include with alcoholic gifts.
"All Texans should be able to enjoy the holiday season safely, without worrying about drunk driving," said Rep. Workman. "This campaign encourages adults to appoint a P.A.S.S., or Person Appointed to Stay Sober, to make the season safe and enjoyable for everyone."
"I encourage everyone to plan ahead. If you know you will be drinking alcohol, please appoint a P.A.S.S. to get you home safely. I also encourage hosts to provide alcohol-free beverages at their parties for designated drivers to enjoy."
Mixologist Rob Pate has created three alcohol-free drinks for Holiday P.A.S.S. These drink recipes are available on the Holiday P.A.S.S. Pinterest page, www.pinterest.com/holidaypass.
