FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 11/12/2012

A Hard Fought Battle – Veterans Day 2012

Today we honor our veterans – for their selfless service to our nation. Today, veterans across the entire United States are commemorated and honored for their courage. Let us take some time today to thank those in our armed forces for their extraordinary bravery in defending our freedoms.

Veterans Day began as a holiday in May 26, 1954, formerly known as Armistice Day around the world. Armistice Day celebrated the signing of the Armistice that marked the end of World War I.

We must commit ourselves to caring for our veterans. It is the thanks that we owe them for ensuring that we can live in a country as great as the United States. Let us take a second today to thank those who have protected us in the past and those who still protect us now.

In this day, let us remember Mr. Arturo “Treto” Garza, who was an inspiring veteran for many years and lead the Veteran’s Hospital idea to many lawmakers across the Valley.

God bless all U.S. Veterans and God Bless America!
