SPEAKER JOE STRAUS ANNOUNCES FRANK BATTLE AS NEW GENERAL COUNSEL AND HOUSE ETHICS ADVISOR
Austin, Texas-- Today, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus announced Frank Battle as the newest member of his team. Frank will serve as the Speaker's General Counsel and House Ethics Advisor.
Battle is coming to the Speaker's office after serving as General Counsel and Policy Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Dewhurst since 2003.
Prior to joining the lieutenant governor’s staff, Battle served as special assistant and legal counsel to former House Speaker Pete Laney and as the ethics advisor to the Texas House.
"Frank will bring immense knowledge and experience to the Texas House," said Speaker Straus. "His time in and around the Capitol will prove to be an invaluable resource to our Members and the important work of the House."
Battle is an honors graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics. He has a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and a master's degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs.
