Rep.J.M. Lozano Appointed to Agriculture and Livestock, Energy Resources and Rules & Resolutions
Committee Appointments Reflect Historic Livelihood and Future Interests of District
Austin, TX- Today Texas House Speaker Joe Straus (San Antonio), appointed Rep. Lozano (Kingsville) to three House Committees— Agriculture & Livestock, Energy Resources, and Rules & Resolutions.
"The Speaker's appointments today are a huge win for my district and constituents. I thank the Speaker for his confidence in me through this process and for his consideration of the interests of my district," Rep. Lozano said.
Rep. Lozano's district comprises of heavily rural counties whose past, present, and future development and economic prosperity rely heavily on agriculture, livestock, oil and gas.
The Agriculture and Livestock committee is charged with all matters pertaining to agriculture, horticulture, livestock, forests, lumber, and rural issues.
The Energy Resources committee has jurisdiction over matters pertaining to energy conservation, oil and gas, mineral deposits and mineral rights, alternative energy, energy efficiency, pipelines and electric utility regulation.
The Rules and Resolutions committee is a procedural committee with jurisdiction over rules of procedure, resolutions, proposed amendments, joint rules and proposed amendments of the House and Senate.
