Non-Toll Solution Could be Adopted by Transportation Commission May 24

AUSTIN – State Representative Paul Workman is urging the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to build the Oak Hill Parkway project without tolls. The Texas Transportation Commission, the governing body which oversees TxDOT, could consider funding options, including a non-tolled plan, as soon as their public hearing scheduled for May 24.

"After working closely with TxDOT to find meaningful solutions to relieve the severe traffic congestion at and around the Y at Oak Hill, I am encouraged that significant progress is being made towards funding the Oak Hill Parkway project without tolled lanes," said. Rep. Workman. "Residents of the area and the many commuters who travel this corridor daily deserve relief now. I strongly encourage the Transportation Commission to support the Oak Hill Parkway as a non-tolled project in order to benefit all motorists."
