AUSTIN- Wednesday, Representative Brooks Landgraf had the honor of being appointed to serve on both the House Committee on Energy Resources and the House Committee on Investments and Financial Services.

"I am honored to serve District 81 in the Texas House of Representatives and strongly believe my appointment to the committees on Energy Resources and Investments and Financial Services will benefit our communities and I look forward to working for the betterment of West Texas on these very important committees," said Representative Landgraf.

The House Committee on Energy Resources includes, but is not limited to, the jurisdiction over all matters pertaining to the production, regulation, transportation, and development of oil, gas, and other energy resources.

The jurisdiction of the House Committee on Investments and Financial Services includes the oversight of banking and the state banking system; savings and loan associations; and credit unions, among other things.

"Now that House Committees have been assigned, we will begin to hold hearings on bills and determine how best to solve the issues facing our great state," Representative Landgraf explained. "Texas has so much to be proud of, but there is still work to be done to make sure that it remains the best state in the union to live, work, and raise a family. Our community is blessed to have abundant supplies of energy and this is vital to our region. I look forward to serving as a strong voice for the Permian Basin."

Representative Brooks Landgraf was elected in 2014 to serve House District 81, which encompasses Andrews, Ector, Ward, and Winkler Counties. Landgraf resides in Odessa with his wife Shelby and works as an attorney and rancher. He also serves on the Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance Board of Directors, the Education Foundation Board of Directors, and the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute Advisory Council.
