Biography

Texas House Member Drew Springer is the State Representative for House District 68 (HD 68). If his district were a state, it would be the 42nd largest in the union. The district stretches 300 miles between Cooke and Crosby County, and 200 miles from Wheeler to Fisher County.

Drew is Christian and a lifelong conservative Republican who fights to preserve rural values, promote economic development, and undue burdensome regulations in Texas. He is adamant in his belief that the government has become too large at both the federal, state, and local level. Excessive regulations overburden our lives, destroy our freedoms, create a nanny state, slows our growth, and increase the cost of living. In Drew's opinion, the government does not have a revenue problem but a spending problem.

Ever a fighter for the U.S. Constitution, Drew is a strong supporter of the right to life and firmly believes that life begins at conception. He supports all measures to limit or eliminate abortion and strives to be the voice, for those who are unable to speak for themselves. A staunch defender of the Second Amendment, he fights to decrease the limitations which restrict law-abiding gun owners from protecting themselves and their loved ones.

Drew and Lydia, have been married for 25 years. They are blessed to reside in Muenster, Texas, the small town where Lydia was raised, and not too far down the road from Weatherford, Texas, where Drew grew up. Together, they raise their three children with the same small-town values with which they both were brought up.

After graduating from Weatherford High School, Drew attended and graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. He spent fifteen years working in Texas for a railcar company as an accountant, leasing VP, and eventually president overseeing three divisions. In his role as president, Drew had over 1,000 employees working under him and made the company hundreds of millions in sales. He left to join his father’s financial services business where he has specialized in agricultural managed futures for the last twelve years.

Drew is very involved with his local community where he has served as a volunteer firefighter for the last ten years. Drew and Lydia attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church where Drew serves on the church's finance committee. Drew has participated in various other activities in the community that include: Knights of Columbus events, Cub Scouts, and coaching high school tennis.

Drew has been endorsed and recognized by several groups including: National Rifle Association, Texas State Rifle Association, Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Farm Bureau, National Federation of Independent Businesses, Texas Right to Life, Alliance for Life, Conservative Republicans of Texas, Young Conservatives of Texas, Texas Conservative Coalition, and numerous others.
