Throughout his years of public service in the Texas House of Representatives, Representative Flynn has never voted for a bill to raise taxes, and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility has named him a Texas Taxpayer Hero, citing him for always seeking to reduce the burden of taxes, looking for smarter ways to spend tax dollars, and working to make the budget process more transparent and accountable.

The US Department of Defense has recognized Representative Flynn for his strong legislative support of the department's efforts.
