State Representative John Lujan is proud to represent House District 118 consisting of South San Antonio, Somerset, Elmendorf, St. Hedwig, Selma, and Universal City in Bexar County. Rep. Lujan was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in a special election in January 2016.
Representative Lujan has actively served the District 118 community for over 30 years as a firefighter, small businessman, sports coach, Sunday school teacher, and volunteer. John credits his heart for service to his mother and father, a retired elementary school principal and a Baptist minister. Rep. Lujan will continue to carry and reflect these values of faith, family, and community service as he represents District 118 in the Texas House.
Representative Lujan retired from the San Antonio Fire Department in 2012 after 25 years of service. Since then, he has continued to be a leader at Y&L Consulting where he helped to grow the small IT business to over 400 employees. In addition to Y&L Consulting, Rep. Lujan founded Sistema Technologies, another IT company. Rep. Lujan is quick to share his passion for technology careers and the small business community, particularly with local students who will one day work in the IT field.
Representative Lujan and his wife Freda have been married for 31 years and are the proud parents of five amazing sons. Together, they are active members of Southside Baptist Church.
