Biography

Representative Morgan Meyer is a lifelong conservative with a history of leadership, cutting waste, shrinking government, and promoting a higher ethical standard. Morgan represents District 108 in the Texas House of Representatives which encompasses Downtown Dallas, Uptown Dallas, East Dallas (including the M Streets and Lower Greenville), Preston Hollow, the City of University Park, and the Town of Highland Park, Texas.

In his second term as a state representative, Morgan serves on the powerful State Affairs and Public Education Committees. Previously, Morgan served on the House Energy and Insurance committees where he upheld conservative principles earning him awards such as the "Conservative Champion" by the Texas Conservative Coalition, "2015 Effective Conservative Lawmaker" by the Conservative Roundtable of Texas, "Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business, "Legislative Hero" by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation for his commitment to fighting for access to justice, "Friend of the Taxpayer" by Americans for Prosperity, Texas Chapter, and "Conservative Achievement" by the American Conservative Union Foundation.

Representative Meyer is a partner at Wick Phillips Law firm and has almost two decades experience protecting business interests. Morgan has been named a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers eight times. He is particularly devoted to using his professional training as an attorney to provide legal services to those who could not otherwise afford them. Through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, Morgan has volunteered at the South Dallas Legal Clinic, the Housing Legal Clinic, and the VA Hospital Clinic. Morgan is also involved in the Lawyers Serving Warriors Program, which provides free representation to injured veterans to help them secure benefits based upon combat related injuries.

Representative Meyer received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University graduating cum laude. Morgan's interest in politics grew during his internship for U.S. Congressman Larry Combest from Lubbock. He received his law degree from Washington and Lee School of Law, after which he clerked for Republican Judge John Marshall. Morgan was a precinct chair when he lived in the M Streets, attended the State Republican Convention as a delegate, and is a member and past officer of the Greater Dallas Pachyderm Club.

Born in Lubbock, Texas, he is one of six children and was raised to value education and hard work. Morgan has lived in District 108 for over 20 years and has been active throughout the community. He is married to Keana Meyer and lives in University Park with their three children, Katharine, Elizabeth, and Asher. His family attends Highland Park United Methodist Church where they teach Sunday school.
